Banstead Manor: Supper & an Anglo Saxons talk
A brilliant evening of friendship and delicious food was enjoyed by Banstead Rotary Club at a buffet supper held by its Corporate members Lisa and Fiona at Banstead Manor.
Members and partners attended the event. Jane also welcomed Lisa to the Club and presented her Rotary badge. Geoff Marshall gave an informative talk about The Anglo Saxons and an overview of the course of events in Anglo-Saxon England. The Anglo-Saxons held sway in this country from the Romans departing until the Norman Conquest; a period of over 600 years.
Geoff Marshall was born in Walsall and studied chemistry at the University of Aston followed by post graduate research at Imperial College. After a career as a research chemist, he now divides his time between delivering history talks and writing.
Jane thanked everyone involved for the tasty buffet, “It was an enjoyable meal in a lovely setting and good to share fellowship and build on our relationships! Many thanks to Fiona and Lisa for organising tonight and Geoff for an informative talk.”
