“Massive thank you” from Banstead Rotary as Ukraine fundraiser makes £1,600.00
A fundraiser organised by the Rotary Club of Banstead in aid of humanitarian relief in the Ukraine has raised £1,600.
Members of Banstead Rotary have offered a ‘massive thank you’ to all those who supported the event and appeal. At the time of writing, the fundraising total stood at about £1,600, the club said. This had been achieved from the 49 attendees through a variety of ways, including personal donations, the Race Night fundraiser at Cuddington Golf Club, raffle, tote profit, a meal subsidy from Andrew Cousens (Head of Catering, Cuddington Golf Club, Banstead Rotary Trust Fund, and an ‘extremely generous’ sum from a local resident.
After a fun evening at the Races last night our donation to the Rotary Ukraine Fund will be £1600
John Draper, International Chairman at The Rotary Club of Banstead, said: “This is a brilliant example of how Rotarians in the Banstead area can work together for the benefit of those in the world that desperately need our help.”
“This is why I joined Rotary,” he added
The money is being sent to the Rotary Ukraine Fund in the Rotary South District of 1145.
The hope now is to hit £2,000 – anyone who can help the Club meet this milestone is asked to donate at www.bansteadrotary.com
