Rotary Christmas Guests’ Night 2023!

Once again it was fantastic to be able to get together to celebrate Christmas this year, have some fun, and, appreciate each other’s company during our Club's annual Christmas Guests’ Night at Cuddington Golf Club!

Jane greeted the 47 guests  as well as thanking the Club members for all their hard work making the evening such a success. She also drew everyone’s attention to The Anniversary of Banstead Rotary’s founding. The Club was chartered on December 17, 1951 which means the Club has now completed 72 years of service.

She also gave a bit of background: Rotary Clubs across the world execute service projects worth $2 billion every year in their communities. Rotarians also give 25 million volunteer hours to their communities across the world every year!

The guests enjoyed a three course Christmas dinner followed by a quiz set by Suzanne, and, musical entertainment. There were crackers, beautiful table decorations, and, Christmas decor to get us into the seasonal spirit during the event.

Roger set the mood when he recited Benjamin Zephaniah’s “Talking Turkeys”.

David and Roger also organised the raffle with prizes donated by the club members, as well as auctioning a magnificent hamper, given by our Corporate Rotary partner Banstead Manor Hallmark Care Home, which together raised £335 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity!

After dinner we were treated to a medley of Christmas carols and songs played by Roger, accompanied by volunteers leading the community singing, with , all guests taking part to end the evening!
